Attraction in Sematan

Sematan is located near to Lundu. Same with Lundu, Sematan also popular with their beaches. Such as Abang Amin Beach and Pueh Beach which could be reached via Jalan Lundu-Sematan is collectively called Sematan Beach. Telok Melano Beach which is located at Telok Melano can only be reach by boat from Sematan's Jetty. As the advise that the boats service are infrequent and inaccessible during the monsoon months.

Abang Amin beach is located in Sematan which will passing by Pekan Sematan if go there. While Pueh Beach is located in Kampung Pueh. Telok Melano is near with Kampung Temajuk, Sambas, Indonesia.

This is jetty in Kampung Pueh. The local community which is Kaum Dayak Salako, mostly work as fisherman.

This is Jetty Sematan. The boats are belong to local which are Cina and Malay, mostly work as fisherman. They also use those boat to go to Telok Melano.


Beside beaches, there also has National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. One of the national park is Tanjung Datu National Park which is located at the south-western tip of Sarawak on the Datu Peninsula is accessible by boat from Sematan and via Telok Melano Trail from the fishing village of Telok Melano. Next is Talang-Satang National Park is Sarawak Turtle Sanctuary which comprise of Talang-Talang Island…Pulau Satang and the Ara Banun Wildlife Sanctuary. Talang-Talang Island is accessible by boats from Sematan. Lastly, Samunsan Wildlife Sanctuary which is located North-West of Lundu within Gunung Pueh Forest Reserve is accessible via Lundu-Sematan Road is a good site for bird watching.

Other extra attractions in Sematan are Silk Farm and Sebako Hotspring. Silk Farm located in Kampung Siru Dayak which is near with Kampung Pueh. This Silk Farm operated by Zuhrah Pelangi Sdn. Bhd. It produce high quality silk from silkworm. While Sebako Hotspring located at Kampung Sebako is 15km from Sematan Bazaar. Its my hometown. There also has mini hydro and waterfall.
